The Kardashians fans watched a lot during the first season of the streamed show. Among the topics covered were those of Kim Kardashian. One thing they didn’t see, however, was a significant amount of Kim’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson. The comedian has been extensively mentioned in some episodes, but hasn’t actually appeared, apart from a slight “cameo” in the post-credits scene of the season . Now, after the season finale, the showrunner wonders if Kim ever tried to get her boyfriend to come in front of the camera.
Danielle King, who also doubles as an EP on the reality series, is more than aware of fans’ desire to see more of Pete Davidson on The Kardashians. You previously explained that she was surprised by the passionate reaction of the audience to his absence in the early years of the much publicized relationship. King has now confirmed that he has never seen Kim Kardashian try to entice her boyfriend to appear on the show. He also explained how the show handles the presence of other important people:
The show is about our main cast, this family, so if there are any other important people, it’s really up to them. I’ve never seen it once; Kim never tried to persuade Pete (to be a part of the show). It always depends on the partner or peripheral person they are dealing with. If they want to join the party, more power for them; we are happy to cover it.
It should be remembered that although the famous titular family has promised to document their lives for public consumption, the people they bring into their orbit have not. So it makes sense that the founder of SKIMS doesn’t want to pressure her man to show up. There is also a unique aspect of Live Saturday night alum that distinguishes him from the star’s previous companions. Pete is a very important person, he’s an actor; as Kim has already said; when the cameras are rolling for him, it means performance time. When the cameras roll for this family, it’s time to get real. It is a different muscle that has worked and worked.
There is a big difference between playing a character and being yourself in front of the camera. Many would probably agree that Pete Davidson is doing the former in a big way, even though he may not be ready to do the latter on a reality show. With that, whether Davidson appears in front of the camera, it will be his decision, according to Danielle King:
Whether or not we get detailed storylines is entirely up to him … it’s a conversation between Kim and Pete.
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are apparently very close right now, so much so that Davidson also spends time with his children. – with no Kardashian around. They also take tropical vacations, where the comic is found showing her “satisfied with passing her boyfriend’s tests”. So there’s certainly a lot of material the show could cover about the couple, but we’ll have to wait and see if the actor ever decides to officially join the cast, without the help of his high-profile partner.
