According to the creators, the new diet helps to get rid of five to 20 kilograms in just six weeks.

How was the frozen diet born?

It all started with an idea put forward by American physician Brian C. Weiner a few years ago. It was very simple: the doctor advised anyone who wanted to lose weight to drink a liter of very cold water with ice cubes every day.

Weiner explained that the body will expend a lot of energy to melt the ice that has fallen into the stomach. And this means that the number of calories consumed per day will increase significantly, and the “stores” of fat in the waist and hips will begin to melt away.

The doctor was even going to write a book called The Ice Diet, but he never did, losing interest in his idea. That’s when the stick was intercepted by British beauty and health expert Peta Bee, whose nutrition system became a hit.

Down with the comfort zone!

Peta, unlike Brian, didn’t succeed with just one rule. Its concept is based on the thesis that excessive comfort has ruined most people’s metabolism, and we accumulate fat because we avoid the cold.

Bee cites a study by scientists at Harvard University, which showed that deliberately lowering the temperature of the environment can burn up to 2800 additional kcal per week without changing anything in the diet.

Based on this data, Peta recommends that those who want to lose weight not only change their diet, but also their lifestyle. But don’t worry about freezing for the rest of your life: just follow the new rules for six weeks.

How to eat on a frozen diet?

Peta suggests following the 2:10 p.m. rule every day: Within 2 p.m., you must eat at least three times and fast for 10 hours. It’s easy to manage: dinner two hours before going to bed is enough if you sleep eight hours.

Sodas, sweets, processed foods, pastries and sugar are prohibited (but popsicles are acceptable). All other products can be eaten, but they should be eaten cold, and even better – iced. Portion sizes can be arbitrary, but do not force yourself to eat when there is no appetite.

Here is an example of the menu of the day:

  • Breakfast: cottage cheese with sour cream, fruit ice cream
  • Snack: kefir, banana
  • Lunch: okroshka, boiled chicken fillet, boiled potatoes, salad
  • Snack: chilled vegetable salad, yogurt
  • Dinner: boiled fish, chilled stewed vegetables

Rules for Living on an Ice Diet

  1. Sleep in a cool room, do not use thick blankets and hot pajamas. This is how you “unlock” the transformation of white fat into usable brown fat.
  2. Don’t get carried away. Keep the temperature in the room at 18-20 degrees, gradually get used to dressing cooler than usual when you go out.
  3. Ventilate the rooms! To do this, you need to not only open the window, but open the window. Do this several times a day, including in winter and autumn.
  4. Take a contrast shower, accustom your body to cold water. At the same time, you will receive an additional bonus: the amount of utility bills will become lower.
  5. Walk every day for as long as possible. In winter, do not forget hat and gloves, but reduce the number of layers.

As you can see, Peta B Periods aren’t much different from the regular hardening we’ve all heard of. So it is worth trying the ice cream diet – it will help restore thermoregulation and return to a healthy weight.
