Riley Keough, one of the protagonists, said there were plans and even shared a rehearsal video
The series Daisy Jones & The Sixwas one of the biggest streaming hits in 2023. Inspired by the book of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reidthe show developed by Scott Neustadter It is Michael H. Weber for the Amazon Prime Video tells the story of the beginnings, stardom and abrupt end of a fictional rock band.
Even an album with songs from the book — and the series —, titled Aurora, was released to make everything even more real. Thus, it was not surprising that the cast of musicians — composed of Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon — did real live performances or even a tour.
This, at least until now, has not happened. Apparently, it shouldn’t happen in the future either. And it wasn’t for lack of will from those involved, who even planned a tour.
Through a publication in Instagram(via website Igor Miranda), Keough shared a video that shows her performing the track “Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)”in an essay, alongside Claflin. It is also possible to hear other musicians, although it is not possible to confirm whether they were the other actors in the series.
In the caption, she revealed that a tour was actually planned by those involved. The actors’ strike in Hollywoodwhich took place between May 2 and September 27 last year, made it impossible to hold the shows.
“Here is a video of the last time I Sammy, the band and I rehearsed together. We were rehearsing to play live for our lovely fans daisy jones. Unfortunately, this never happened because of the strike. I have so much love for everyone in this band and this show. Everyone worked harder than I had ever witnessed on any other project.”
Behind the scenes, green light
The idea of a tour of Daisy Jones & The Six She was also well regarded among behind-the-scenes professionals. Scott Neustadtershowrunner and one of the series’ developers, said that the idea of a tour was great, but that reconciling the actors’ schedules would be quite a challenge.
“Everyone involved really wants this to happen. It’s a matter of figuring out when they could all be in the same place at the same time again. They all have other really amazing plans. But I know they keep rehearsing in the hope that maybe it can happen sooner rather than later. They will be ready when that happens.”
With the actors’ other work developing, it is difficult to imagine when a live performance would be possible. Riley Keoughfor example, already has a new film in the works: Sasquatch Sunseta comedy that hits American theaters on April 12th.
