According to Beau DeMayo, the revival of the classic series from the 1990s is independent of the shared universe stories
For those waiting for the premiere of X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and hoped that X-Men ’97revival of the classic series from the 1990s, was responsible for this, it’s better to get the “little mutant” out of the rain.
In response to questions from fans on his social networks, Beau DeMayoshowrunner of the Disney+ new feature, which premieres in March, revealed that the animation is not part of the franchise’s shared universe: “We are our own thing”, he said. Check out:

Although it is not this time that mutants will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some heroes have already appeared in franchise productions, such as Ms. Marvelwho was reintroduced as a mutant in the series Ms. Marvel (2022), and Datingthe villain of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).

Finally, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić) It is Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), among other names not yet revealed, will be back in Deadpool & Wolverinethird film in Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), which opens in cinemas around the world in July.
About X-Men ’97
X-Men ’97the classic series about Marvel’s mutants, will continue the story that ended previously in the 5th season, shown in 1997. Previously scheduled to debut in the second half of 2023, X-Men ’97 will come to Disney+ on March 20 this year. However, the streaming platform did not clarify what the new release model will be: whether the episodes will be released weekly, as is the service’s custom; daily, as happened with the second season of What If…?; or in full, as was the case with the miniseries Echo.
The voice cast of the new version of X-Men ’97 will feature the returns of original actors from the series, including Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Catherine Disher as jean gray, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Chris Potter as Gambit, Adrian Hough as Nocturnal It is Christopher Britton as Mr. Sinister.
