Supersex coming soon on Netflix
Netflix has a habit of releasing shows that make subscribers react. This is often the case with sulphurous films or series, not necessarily of high quality (see the success of 365 days). And the platform is now present in many homes around the world, even the smallest box is monitored, analyzed and commented on. Therefore seeing the streaming service launch a series dedicated to Rocco Siffrediprobably the most famous porn actor in the world, one could already assume from the result.
Titled Supersexthe miniseries will be composed of seven episodes aimed at telling (in the form of fiction) the journey of the man credited with none other than 1500 X movies. A creation by Francesca Manieri, described by Variety as a feminist activist, and who initially hesitated to join this project proposed by the producer Lorenzo Mieli. The screenwriter therefore felt that this was the opportunity for her”to enter the heart of masculinity – with all its dysfunctions and potential toxicities“.
According to the long portrait of the series made by the American media, it is presented by Francesca Manieri Supersex as a hybrid work, between melodrama and coming-of-age story. A series that will aim to deconstruct”the limits of a type of toxic masculinity“.

However, it is difficult to approach the life of Rocco Siffredi while remaining modest. And the trailer for Supersex set the tone. Alessandro Borghi (excellent The Eight Mountains), chosen to play the porn actor, then confirmed that the series would go far. According to him, the show would feature “about 40 or 50 borderline sex scenes“, of which “some more intense than others“. 40 sequences distributed in just seven episodes, it seems like a lot. Really a lot! However, the actor wanted to justify the use of these passages.
Every scene involving sex, porn, always involves a new narrative twist for the character. It’s never because at this point in the story it was necessary to add sex for the audience.
In addition to Rocco Siffredi’s work in the porn industry, Supersex should address his youth, his relationship with sexuality and his relationship with women. Among these we will find the porn star Moana Pozzi, who died on September 15, 1994 at the age of 33, and played in the series by Gaia Messerklinger. Alessandro Borghi, the actress and other performers therefore filmed many sex scenes. To ensure smooth operation, production was used an intimacy coordinator, Luisa Lazzaro. The latter would have helped instill a relaxed atmosphere over the weeks.
It’s funny because the first few weeks we were all a little worried. And then the third week, we stood there naked watching the scenes on the monitor. So something must have worked.
In addition to Gaia Messerklinger, the female cast includes Jasmine TrincaGiada Pedri (Parallels) and Linda Caridi (Last night in Milan). The Supersex series will be available on Netflix from March 6th.
