The return of Eric Draven
In 1993, Australian director Alex Proyas made his second feature film: The Raven. It is an adaptation of the comics of the same name, featuring Eric Draven, a musician returned from the dead to avenge his own murder and especially that of his girlfriend. Resurrected by a mysterious crow and aided by a police officer, he will then hunt down the members of the gang that killed them to eliminate them one by one.
Published in 1994, The Raven, starring Brandon Lee in the title role, was a critical and commercial success, praised in particular for its elegant gothic aesthetic and its darkness. 30 years later, and 16 years after the announcement of a reboot, the new film The Raven will finally arrive in theaters in June 2024the 7th in the United States and the 5 In France. For this reinvention of the character, it is the actor Bill Skarsgård taking on the role, under the direction of director Rupert Sanders.
