Revenge is coming
Eric Draven aka “The Crow”, a musician murdered and resurrected by a crow to avenge his death and that of his girlfriend Shelly Webster, is back. 30 years after the cult film by Alex Proyas, during the filming of which the lead actor Brandon Lee tragically lost his life, its remake begins to appear with Bill Skarsgård in the title role, in view of its release in cinemas. The Raven AS The Batman ?
Since entering development in 2008, the new film The Raven it has passed through multiple hands, in front of and behind the camera. Before he was the interpreter of Pennywise in movies That which give him his characteristics, the character could have been played by Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans or even Jason Momoa.

The comparison does not only apply to the performers, but also to their inclusion in the superhero genre, The Raven being a vengeful vigilante resurrected by a supernatural force. As a reminder, the 1994 film had similarities to theTim Burton’s two Batman filmspublished in 1989 and 1992. At a time when, unlike the dynamics of the MCU and the DCEU, the anti-superhero are coming back in force, so The Crow could be a great surprise.
A tribute to Brandon Lee
Rupert Sanders explained it The Raven had been made with the constant memory of Brandon Lee’s deathand what the actor, killed on set by an accidental gunshot, brought to the role.
It was a terrible tragedy, and it was something that was clearly and always on our minds while making the film. Brandon was a unique voice and I think he will always be synonymous with “The Crow”, I hope he’s proud of what we did and how we got back to that story. His spirit is very much alive in this film. There’s a real fragility and beauty to the character’s version of him, and I think Bill feels like a successor to that version.
