Fernanda Andrade played Marc Spector’s mother in Moon Knight, a Marvel series
THE Marvel is known for the great secrecy in relation to the new productions of the studio and this goes even for the actors who participate in them. Fernanda Andradewho interpreted Wendymother of Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) in moon knight (2022), revealed how she knew nothing about the role before she was approved for casting.
“I auditioned without knowing if it was a movie or a series. I was just told it was something Marvel for the Disney+. Even the character’s name was fake,” he said in an interview with Tangerine. “Often, even the script we use for the test is invented, I didn’t even know if that text was real (laughs). But it turned out they were lines from the Wendy same.”
Actress said that the auditions were completely blind and with questions that the team could not even answer. When she passed the first audition, she returned for a second selection and only after weeks did she find out that she would play the role. Wendy. However, this news did not offer much information about the character.
“There is little about the Wendy in the comics, what I found about her was pretty limited,” he said. “The character you see on the show is a creation of the Muhammad [Diab, produtor executivo e diretor] and gives Sarah [Goher, produtora e roteirista]they kind of invented the Wendy like that, with the wonderful writing team they have.”
In addition to having to keep the character a secret, Andrade could not even reveal that he was on the series until he attended the premiere of moon knight. “It was difficult to hold back the emotion, the desire to tell. But at the same time, it was exciting, I knew that at some point I was going to have to talk about it. At the premiere, I did all the interviews without being able to talk about my character, because it was still a secret (laughs). I don’t even know what I said that day. Journalists, forgive me!,” he said.
