Twilight: a cult saga for an entire generation
The saga Dusk debuted in bookstores in 2005 with Stephenie Meyer’s first novel entitled Charm. After three more volumes (Temptation, Hesitation AND Revelation), the saga was adapted for film in 2008 with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the lead roles. Once again the success was enormous, with three billion dollars grossed at the global box office for the four feature films.
As a reminder, the saga tells the story of Bella Swan, an introverted teenager, who arrives in the small, rainy town of Forks, Washington. It was in her new high school that she met Edward Cullen, a mysterious young man, with whom he falls madly in love. But after getting close to him, she discovers her secret: he’s a vampire. Despite the dangers, Bella and Edward fall deeply in love with her.
An animated series announced
In April 2023, Lionsgate studios announced, to everyone’s surprise, that a series Dusk was in preparation. Today, Variety reveals that this project is currently in production, and that it will be an animated series. It was Michael Burns, vice president of Lionsgate, who revealed this information during a press conference held on Tuesday.
The latter declared regarding the project: “We are planning to launch an animated series based on the ‘Twilight’ saga. I think it will generate great interest.”
This series will still be based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels. At the moment we still don’t know the details of this new variation around Bella and Edward, although the episodes should follow the plot of the books.
A release date has not yet been announced.
