The Odyssey: a dive into the life of Commander Cousteau

Released in 2016 and directed by Jérôme Salle, the film The odyssey is a biopic set over several years and focusing on the life and work of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, pioneer of underwater exploration, played on screen by Lambert Wilson.

To play Philippe Cousteau, who was also an expert diver, Pierre Niney had to learn to scuba dive and trained extensively before filming with the help of professionals. During filming, Pierre Niney had the chance to swim among the whales in the ocean of South Africa, or even in the presence of sharks. A scene for which she had to overcome her fear of her. Shark-phobic since childhood, he nevertheless dived among tiger sharks and lemon sharks, for a wonderful scene in the film and for which he was not dubbed.
