One Shot: a hair-raising sequence shot
Released directly to VOD in France in February 2022, One shot is an action film directed by James Nunn and starring Scott Adkins, Ashley Greene and Ryan Philippe.
The plot immerses us in the heart of a dangerous mission led by an elite team of Navy SEALs on a secret CIA island. But what should have been a smooth exfiltration takes an unpredictable turn when insurgents attack the prison to seize the same prisoner, endangering the security of Washington, D.C.
One Shot is a compendium of intense action that leaves the viewer with no respite. With a running time of just 90 minutes, the film maintains a frenetic pace, capturing attention from start to finish, especially because it is structured around a single sequence shot.
How was the film shot?
During an interview with Kingdom of Kung Fu given in 2022, James Nunn revealed the technical challenges behind filming the One shot. Although the film is not composed entirely of a single sequence, Nunn kept cuts to a minimum to create a striking visual fluidity. The fight scenes, especially those between Scott Adkins and MMA champion Jess Liaudin, they were shot in a single takeadding authentic intensity to the action.
The director also faced logistical challenges, in particular the unpredictable climate of the filming island, with which it was impossible to guarantee continuity. Additionally, scenes involving firearms were done with visual effects, as the sound of gunfire would interrupt the shooting sequences.

This year, the sequel to the film, titled Another shot, was released on VOD worldwide (including France). This time, the marine played by Scott Adkins must stop the mercenaries from freeing a terrorist.
