Jeff Goldblum as Zeus for Kaos
Greek mythology continues to inspire Netflix. After Furies, which uses some elements for its universe (names like Olympus), a future series will go a little further on this level. With Kaos, it is a modern reinterpretation of Greek mythology that is in preparation. There we will find famous gods and heroes, but nowadays, as we can see in the first teaser revealed by Netflix (video on the front page of an article). A video that shows few things except sometimes today’s America, sometimes what seems to be Olympus where Zeusembodied for the occasion by Jeff Goldblum.

The latter appears in a real palace, in a modern outfit to say the least (sunglasses, wristwatch, suit). We can also see a statue representing him, before he says these words: “Honor me, it is a command, not a request“. We can assume that humans have stopped honoring the Gods and that Zeus will therefore have to intervene. But Expiration provides us with more details with a summary of the series that will also involve Prometheus.
Having long enjoyed his status as King of the Gods, Zeus’ reign was never truly threatened. Until one morning he wakes up and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing that it is the omen of an ancient prophecy that announced its destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus is convinced that his ruin is imminent. Increasingly paranoid, the God of Gods – seeing signs everywhere – begins to dangerously self-destruct.
And he’s right to be worried. His former friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, orchestrates a plan to take him down. The plan involves three different humans, unaware of their cosmic significance or the role they must play in saving the world.
The casting of the Netflix series
In addition to Jeff Goldblum, a great cast has been assembled Kaos. It will therefore be present David Thewlis as Hades, Janet McTeer as Hera, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Killian Scott as Orpheus, but also Aurora Perrineau (Riddy), Misia Butler (Caneus) and Leila Farzad (Ari). Finally, keep this in mind Kaos it is the new creation of Charlie Covell to whom we owe The end of the fucking world, already on Netflix. This new proposal will be carefully monitored. We still don’t know when the show will be released online on the platform.
