House of the Dragon: season 2 is approaching
Series House of the Dragon is the first spin-off of game of Thrones to be released on our screens. Still based on the work of George RR Martin, she is interested the war of succession having decimated the Targaryen dynasty approximately two centuries before Daenerys’ birth. In the novels she is known as “the dance of dragons”.
The first season, which aired in the summer of 2022, set the scene and took us into the final years of King Viserys I’s reign, when he decided to name his daughter Rhaenyra as his rightful heir. But after he remarried Alicent Hightower, his estate was disputed between his daughter from his first marriage, and the son he had with Alicent, Aegon Targaryen.
Thanks to the latter’s manipulation, Aegon ended up sitting on the Iron Throne upon Viserys’ death, which sparked the anger of Rhaenyra, supported by her husband Daemon Targaryen. The first season ended with Rhaenyra’s look full of hatred, which announced the beginning of the war that will pit the black clan led by the latter against the green clan, led by Alicent.
