Filmed in the United Kingdom, the series derived from Game of Thrones was one of the few productions not to be affected by the strikes in Hollywood in 2023
Max released, this Thursday (21), a new trailer for the second season of The House of the Dragon (2022- ) and confirmed the launch of new episodes of the series derived from game of Thrones(2011-2019) for June 16th.
The House of the Dragonwhich takes place about two hundred years before the events of game of Thrones and is adapted from the book Fire & Bloodin George R. R. Martinis focused on the dispute between the once powerful family Targaryen for the Iron Throne.
In the second season, we will see the development of events after the death of Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine, Hangover Heroes), when the brothers Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney, Tolkien) It is Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy, Truth Seekers) go to war to decide who is the true heir to the throne and ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. The House of the Dragon still has Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke (The sound of silence) as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans (The spectacular Spider Man) as Otto Hightower, Fabien Frankel (Paradise and the Serpent) as Criston Cole, Steve Toussaint (Prince of Persia: The Areas of Time) as Corlys Velaryon, Eve Best (The king’s speech) as Rhaenys Targaryen It is Ewan Mitchell (Saltburn) as Aemond Targaryen.
Filmed in the UK, The House of the Dragon It was one of the few productions not to be affected by the writers’ and actors’ strike in Hollywood, which lasted more than 100 days last year. This allowed filming to continue normally throughout last year, ending in January this year.
