Fever: this great moment of solitude for actresses during filming

Fever : new success for Canal+

Canal+ has launched its new original creation Fever on March 18 (which we loved). Created by Eric Benzekri (Black Baron), the series follows Sam Berger (Nina Meurisse), a member of a team of communicators tasked with helping the president of a football club manage a crisis. In fact, during an awards ceremony, the team’s star player hit his coach and insulted him by calling him “sale toubab” (“dirty white” in Wolof). The event then echoes in the media and is commented on on social networks. But above all, the story is taken up by Marie Kinsky (Ana Girardot), who enjoys fanning the flames and dividing France a little more thanks to her interventions on current events.

The encrypted channel has chosen to premiere the first two episodes of the first season of La Fever. The spectators therefore remained fired up a cliffhanger at the end of episode 2. We see Sam reassuring the player Fodé Thiam (Alassane Diong), before leaving in the car while the latter is jogging. Thinking things are getting better, Sam starts singing at the top of his lungs. In Emilie’s eyes by Joe Dassin. Except that at the same moment two people set fire to Fodé’s house, thus creating a real emotional contrast.

Nina Meurisse and Ana Girardot give voices for free

To shoot this scene Nina Meurisse sings in her cardirector Ziad Doueiri (The insult, Black hearts) simply placed a camera with the actress who had to ride and sing at the same time. There was no technician present with her. A situation that earned the actress “real moments of solitude“, as he said during the press conference Fever. Since Joe Dassin’s song was not within Nina Meurisse’s range, she knew that she was not singing in tune. But she was still surprised the reactions of the technical teams.

I felt like I was singing like a frying pan. And when we stopped to change the camera axis, the entire technical team was dying of laughter. I thought, “Damn, it’s not supposed to be funny. It’s supposed to be beautiful and touching. Everyone’s actually making fun of me.”

And of course the result was very special as finally Ziad Doueiri decided to re-record the audio track of this scene: “We did it again in post-sync because I still had a somewhat catastrophic entry“. But it’s not just Nina Meurisse who has to undergo the singing exercise. In episode 3 of Feverit’s this time Marie Kinsky sings, from his theater Le Chant des partisans. To prepare, Ana Girardot rehearsed in a hotel in Ouarzazate, Morocco where she was filming another project. Except that, even for her, in the end dubbing was necessarygiving a real blow to the ego of the actress who told this anecdote with amusement.

In the end I was outdone anyway. It was a great moment of solitude for me too. I thought I had a small voice, but in the end Ziad said: “No, sooner or later we’ll put the playback on, it’s better for the public.”
