Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance soon on Netflix
It was in 1979 that the public began to discover the world of Gundam. It was with the animated series Mobile Suit Gundam (1979-1980), which subsequently gave rise to numerous derivative works. Extremely popular in Japan and around the world, the franchise consists of films, other series, OVAs, and even video games. The latest productions to date are also a film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom and the series Gundam: Requiem for Vengeancewhich will soon arrive on Netflix.

The streaming service has in fact decided to offer great visibility to this cult saga by ordering a new animated series. Created by Gavin Hignight, it will be set in the year 0079 of the Universal Century, after the Principality of Zeon declared its independence from the Earth Federation, causing a conflict between the two nations. As a reminder, Gundam is set in a futuristic universe where humans use humanoid combat robots, called Mobile Suits. A principle that remembers Evangelion OR Pacific Rimother works such mecha. Only in Gundamit is above all a question of politics, war and moral issues while every time we discover epic battles between two sides.

Netflix then revealed the trailer for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and from the first images we find, through a line of dialogue, the questions of these soldiers on the usefulness of fighting. Then, the promotional video focuses on action with the use of Mobile Suits. We also discover the Lupi Rossi team which will be visibly at the center of this new story. As for the animation, the production opted for a use of CGI similar to what had been done with the series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (2021).
Finally, although we still don’t know exactly when the streaming platform will go online Gundam: Requiem for Vengeanceit is specified that release is expected this fall. The series will consist of 6 episodes of 30 minutes. Until then you can still see several older animated films Gundam present on Netflix.
