Attention! The following contains spoilers for the flashThe Season 8 finale, “Negative, Part Two”. Read at your own risk!
the flash he really did it all in the season 8 finale as supercharged Eobard Thawne Yes Barry Allen they clashed over the fate of Central City … and perhaps the world as well. The match lived up to every classic takedown these two had had in the past, except when the dust settled it seemed reverse flashing He didn’t leave the game alive. Now, after a huge twist, the biggest evil in the series is gone forever. after his extraordinary comeback the showrunner speaks.
showrunner Eric Wallace i am talking with television line on the grand finale of season 8 for the flash, who apparently killed Reverse-Flash. Wallace admitted there was a reason behind such a massive fight with great results, which should make sense to fans considering what happened:
When we were writing the season 8 finale, we thought it was the series finale. So we thought, ‘We have to have the biggest and most epic fight in history between Grant [Gustin] and Tom! This is how it must end. And once the script was completed and we were getting ready to start preparing, that’s when we learned we were going to get a ninth season. So we were like, ‘Oh shit, we just had the final battle.’ How should we overcome this? So it was like, ‘Let’s kill him for now and face him later.’ [Laughs] Because Reverse-Flash and Negative Reverse-Flash, just like Frost, are dead. I mean, they’re dead.
For anyone who has thought about the season 8 finale of the flash it felt a lot like the end of a series, his instincts were good. Eric Wallace revealed that the main reason for the “final battle” between The Flash and his greatest enemy was that they thought the series was going to end.
Eric Wallace confirmed that Reverse-Flash is too dead like killer jelly but as the season 8 finale showed, Caitlin snow somehow he managed with his crazy experiments to bring back his other half. Danielle Panabaker it looks like it will undergo a drastic change as well returns as a new character in season 9, and it looks like something like this is happening with Tom Cavanagh as well:
Now … that said … it’s a comic book series, and I’m pretty sure there’s a reason you might see Tom Cavanagh in Season 9. I won’t go into details, but it’s a safe bet.
Tom Cavanagh has played a variety of harrison wells characters who weren’t related to Reverse-Flash, so it’s no surprise that he could somehow return despite the villain’s death. Also, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that Reverse-Flash somehow found a way to reverse what seemed like an incredibly final and irreversible death because, as Eric Wallace said, it’s a superhero show.
If the superhero genre has one big weakness, it’s that characters don’t always (or often) stay dead when killed, so I’m not sure Reverse-Flash is gone forever. It is also worth mentioning that Tom Cavanagh has publicly stated that the series finale should organize a showdown between Reverse-Flash and Flash, so that’s it. Unfortunately, the flash The team pulled the trigger a little too soon and hopefully that doesn’t compromise the series finale in the future.
the flash is over for season 8, but will return to The CW for season 9 with another bad family member . For the moment, netflix subscribers they can always get drunk on the show waiting for the new season or hope that season 9 is finally the season we see Tom Cavanagh return as good gray. I know it won’t happen, but I desperately want it.
