Umbrella Academy: Season 4 could be the last, says showrunner
One of the great releases of Netflix in 2022, the third season of Umbrella Academy arrived in the platform’s catalog last Wednesday, 22nd. So far, streaming has not yet renewed production for the fourth year, but the showrunner, Steve Blackmanthinks about plans and is already preparing to end the series in a perhaps not so distant future.
In an interview with The Wrap, Blackman explained how the fourth phase of the series, if the Netflix give the green light, it could be the last. The executive also said that, like the fans, he does not know whether or not the production will have another season, however, he does know what the plot of the sequel would be.
“I think inevitably, if we have a 4th season, we’re going to be game over,” he said. Steve Blackman. “At a certain point, I’m not sure where we would go after Season 4. We need to be careful. My plan for next year is not to continually step on the same ground that we walked on before.”
“It’s a challenge to come up with a way to subvert that plot, and we have an idea of how to do that. But if we get to Season 4, it would be a great ending to the series,” continued the showrunner.
I’m not saying I couldn’t do more, but you know, it would be very satisfying for the audience, four seasons.
