Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man finally tackles Marvel’s wild fan theory involving Thanos’ butt

When Joe and Anthony Russo Avengers: Infinity War Released in theaters in 2018, it immediately inspired Marvel fans around the world to think about how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes might react after their devastating defeat to Thanos. The internet was awash with these ideas … but few have gained as much success as the idea that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, could shrink, fit in Thanos’ rectum, then return to his normal or normal size. Giant. . This is called the Thanus theory.

The comedic aspect of the idea made it go viral and not only got answers from Paul Rudd, but Josh Brolin, the actor who plays Thanos, created some great social media content. What we didn’t see was Ant-Man himself tackling the idea of climbing Thanos’ ass … but that’s not the case today, as you can see in the video below.

Theme park reporter Carlye Wisel posted the video Twitter aboard the Disney Wish Cruise Line, specifically the ship’s Marvel-themed restaurant. This is obviously part of a video that plays as patrons sit down to dinner and features Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne, aka The Wasp.

While the full context of the video isn’t evident in the less than 30 second clip, it feels like this part is from the start, and while any graphic language is avoided, it’s pretty clear what it’s all about. Antman says,

Listen, before we begin, let me talk to the elephant in the room. I’ve heard a lot of conversations there wondering why I didn’t just shrink down and kill Thanos in a really creative way. First, raw. Second, it’s much more complicated than that. Let me explain …

The Wasp prevents Ant-Man from going into detail before he can say more, but that’s probably better considering the video is released before people are about to eat and digest a meal.

However, to complement the superhero thinking, it turns out that it may actually be impossible for Ant-Man to kill Thanos by crawling into the Mad Titan’s anus. After the release of ending of the Avengers (which does not feature the smaller Avenger following that path), screenwriter Christopher Markus speculated that the villain could resist the assassination attempt as he is strong enough to take a hit from the Hulk.

Whether or not this video counts as canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is convoluted (James Gunn previously stated that the Guardians of the Galaxy theme park rides there are his stuff, so it’s possible that it’s coming from some sort of alternate time. Either way, it’s incredibly funny that he was recognized that way.
