Mjolnir isn’t just a mystical weapon wielded by Thor, whether it’s the original Thor Odinson or Jane Foster transformed into The Mighty Thor. It’s also a nice bathroom decoration, as we learned in 2018 that Chris Hemsworth kept a copy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Mjolnir next to the bathroom at his residence. Yet, nearly half a decade later, Hemsworth’s Thor’s hammer would find a second home.

Thor: love and thunderthe fourth entry in the film series and the actor’s eighth theatrical release as the God of Thunder (excluding the strange doctor credits scene). talking with Log intoHemsworth was asked where his copy of Mjolnir is currently located and he replied:
Its location varies from the toy box to the fireplace. They quickly kidnap him there and he ends up in the bathroom.
The toy chest is a logical place for Mjolnir to be even if it is of a higher quality than Mjolnir toys sold to the general public, but the fireplace is also a suitable place since its time since Thor is what catapulted Chris Hemsworth to world fame. . That said, when interviewer Zuri Hall asked why Mjolnir was put in the bathroom, Hemsworth said his wife and fellow actress Elsa Pataky “downgraded” him to that position. So the best we can call Hemsworth’s fireplace is a second home, but his main resting place is still the bathroom, where he waits to be discovered by visitors when they need to freshen up.
Of course, Thor’s primary weapon in the MCU these days is not Mjolnir, but Stormbreaker, the ax he forged during Avengers: Infinity War. Mjolnir was destroyed by Hela during Thor: Ragnarokand while Thor (and Captain America) briefly wielded a Mjolnir from an alternate timeline ending of the Avengers, it felt like the time of the hammer in this franchise was over. It was not like this Thor: love and thunder will see hammer reform one way or another and end up in the hands of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who, apart from a brief appearance in End of the gamehas not been seen in the MCU since Thor: The Dark World. Going back to Stormbreaker, though, I now imagine that bigger gun resting in one of Chris Hemsworth’s bathrooms. It would certainly be more boring than Mjolnir.
In addition to highlighting the debut of Jane Foster’s superhero, Thor: love and thunder will also see both versions of Thor, along with allies like Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Taika Waititi’s Korg, fight Christian Bale’s Gorr the Butcher God. Furthermore, love and thunder will feature the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy and highlight the Olympians of the MCU, with Russell Crowe appearing as Zeus. In addition to returning to directing, Waititi also wrote the script for the film with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
