Hugh Jackman returns Deadpool and Wolverine
Two years after his last film appearance in SonHugh Jackman will return this summer one of the most anticipated films of the year. He will return to take on the role of the character that made him known to the general public Deadpool and Wolverinein which we will see him alongside the protagonist played by Ryan Reynolds.
It was now seven years that we no longer saw Hugh Jackman play Wolverine. The last time he appeared as the character created by Roy Thomas, Len Wein and John Romita, Sr. was in Logan. Despite the ending of James Mangold’s film, the Australian actor therefore agreed to put his claws back into the famous mutant. And this, despite Kevin Feige’s advice.
Kevin Feige advised the actor against returning
Empire has decided to dedicate its new issue to Deadpool and Wolverine. The British magazine reveals this in particular Kevin Feige was the most skeptical regarding Hugh Jackman’s return as the mutant. The head of Marvel Studios strongly advised the actor against reprising this role:
I told him, ‘Let me give you some advice, Hugh. Don’t come back. You had the best ending ever with Logan. It’s not something we should go back to.’
But Hugh Jackman therefore did not follow Kevin Feige’s recommendation. The actor explained to Empire who had studied the question during a trip. About an hour after getting behind the wheel, the question of what he wanted to do came to mind. Then he understood it immediately who wanted to make the film. After driving for another hour, he called Ryan Reynolds to tell him he was ready.
A different Wolverine?
During his interview with Empire, Hugh Jackman also made revelations about the feature film directed by Shawn Levy. He promised we would see « other facets of Wolverine which we haven’t seen in previous films.The actor also admitted that he is very excited about acting for the first time the famous yellow dress of his character. Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in French cinemas July 24th. Remember that it will not be necessary to have seen the previous MCU feature films to understand this new film.
