Wednesday season 2: Netflix arouses impatience with a video
We are no longer featuring the Netflix series Wednesday. Having just arrived on the streaming platform in November 2022, it immediately established itself as a true phenomenonand one of the most watched series of the Red N brand.
Produced by Tim Burton, who also directed several episodes, this series is a modern spin-off of the famous Addams Family franchise. It stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, exploring his adolescence in the present day, in an unusual school, Nevermore Academy.
Unlike the other members of her family, Wednesday has psychic abilities (visions) that often put her in dangerous situations. The series focuses on her quest to master her powers, solve a supernatural mystery haunting the local town, and thwart a series of murders that threaten her classmates and the balance of the school.
While the highly anticipated season 2 is currently in production, Netflix has unveiled a very first teaser, in which we discover the new casting names. As usual, the platform played on its creativity to introduce these new members joining the series.
We discover The Thing as he is placing the script for the first episode of the season at the foot of several dressing room doors on which the actors’ names are written. Jenna Ortega takes charge of the screenplay, on which we can discover the title of the first episode of this season 2: “An unfortunate new beginning”.
Christopher Lloyd returns in The Addams Family
As we can find out in the video, season 2 of Wednesday will have many newcomers in the cast. Among these, one name has inevitably caught your attention: that of Christopher Lloyd. The latter, in fact, played Uncle Fetide, Gomez’s brother, in the two Barry Sonnenfeld films released in 1992 and 1993.
If we still don’t know what Christopher Lloyd’s role will be (not that of Fetid, already played in the series by Fred Armisen), he is the second actor from Barry Sonnenfeld’s films to appear in Wednesday. In fact, Christina Ricci, the unforgettable Wednesday Addams of 90s feature films, also has a role in the Netflix series. Winks that connect the two franchises and provide fan service that is always appreciated by viewers.
A release date for the second season of the Netflix series has not yet been announced.
