The casting for Fantastic Four expands
In the revolution that Marvel must carry out to restore the image of its MCU, this is a big announcement. As revealed by Deadline, the actor John Malkovich should join the already large cast of the film Fantastic Four. Recall that this new film will star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn. The latter will play the superheroes of the film directed by Matt Shakman and will have to face in particular Julia Garner in the role of Shalla-Bala version of the Silver Surfer, as well as Ralph Ineson as Galatto.
A role kept secret
It is not yet clear what role John Malkovich will take on Fantastic Four. Same case as for Paul Walter Hauser, also recently recruited for a mysterious role. Protagonist or antagonist, in any case it will be the return of John Malkovich in a great entertainment production. In recent years he has appeared in independent productions that went unnoticed, notably in the thriller with Robert De Niro Savage salvation released on VOD in 2023 -, and in the series Space Force, The new look AND Ripley. This year he will be the protagonist of Julian Schnabel’s new film In the hands of Dante.
Nominated twice for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The seasons of the heart in 1985 and In line of sight in 1994, and the memorable Cyrus in The wings of hell, this is not the first time in the superhero genre for John Malkovich. Indeed he had taken part in the disaster Jonah Hex in 2010. There is no doubt that he will be able to catch up with the new Fantastic Four.
The release of the film Fantastic Four is scheduled for July 23, 2025 in French cinemas.
