A judge has issued a restraining order against Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin, police said Saturday.
The order was signed on Friday and officials visited an upscale neighborhood in the northern coastal town of Dorado, where the singer lives, to try to enforce the order, police spokesman Axel Valencia told The Associated Press. .
“So far, the police haven’t been able to find him,” Valencia said.

It is not known who applied for the restraining order. Valencia said he could not provide additional details because the order was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law.

The report cites an order stating that they split two months ago, but the petitioner says that Martin did not agree to the separation and was seen wandering near the petitioner’s home at least three times.

Valencia said the order prohibits Martin from contacting or calling the person who referred him and that a judge will decide at a later hearing whether the order should be upheld or suspended. He added that orders usually take at least a month to complete.
Valencia noted that the person who filed the restraining order did not contact the police, which prosecutors would have to determine if there was sufficient evidence to press charges. Instead, the request went directly to court.
