An old Adam Sandler comedy updated to the present day
Adam Sandler he has been an important personality in Hollywood for years. The comedian made his name on stage, and in particular with Saturday Night Live, before making a name for himself in the cinema with unusual comedies. Which hasn’t stopped him from trying in other registers (even recently with Astronaut). The fact remains that comedy remains the genre in which he expresses himself the most, and Netflix he understood that he had to be trusted (Murder mystery and its sequel).
The streaming platform has decided to collaborate once again with Adam Sandler, and has aimed for this one of the actor’s first films. A film that dates back 28 years ago and which, in France, was only released on DVD. This is’Happy Gilmore (1996), which in our country was entitled to the title Terminagolf.
The return of Terminagolf on Netflix
Variety confirmed that Netflix will develop the sequel to this comedy which at the time had grossed nearly $40 million at the worldwide box office on an estimated budget of $12 million. Directed by Dennis Dugan, Happy Gilmore starred Adam Sandler as a hockey player who has trouble managing his anger and who finds himself in significant debt after forgetting to pay his taxes for a decade. That’s when he discovers himself a hidden talent for golf. He will then decide to change his path and dedicate himself to a new sport that could bring him great earnings, and help him save his grandmother’s house.

In addition to Adam Sandler, the film’s cast included Julie Bowen, Frances Bay, Carl Weathers and Christopher McDonald. The latter would have been one of the first to hear the news. In March this year he said:
I saw Adam (Sandler) about two weeks ago and he said, ‘You’re going to love it.’ I said what?’. He said, “What do you think?”
and showed me the first version of Happy Gilmore 2. (…) I said to myself: ‘This is fantastic!’ The fans demand it, dammit!
We can therefore expect Christopher McDonald to reprise his role in this sequel alongside Adam Sandler. It is unknown whether other actors will return Happy Gilmore 2. Netflix has not provided further information at this time.
