The perfect man: what is this French comedy starring Didier Bourdon?
Released in June 2022, the comedy The perfect man by Xavier Durringer brings together a trio well known to the French public, made up of Didier Bourdon, Valérie Karsenti and Pierre-François Martin-Laval.
The film follows Florence, a woman overwhelmed by the responsibilities of her daily life, juggling the demands of her family with her stressful job. Desperate for a solution to lighten her load, decides to invest in a human-looking robot, endowed with a perfect physique. This sophisticated robot is programmed to meet all your needs: it takes care of household chores, takes care of children and performs many other essential functions.
However, it isn’t long before the arrival of this impeccable robot turns the family dynamics upside down. Franck, Florence’s husband, is a casual actor and currently unemployed. He immediately feels threatened by the presence of this perfect new assistant, who seems to excel at everything he does. Jealousy begins to devour Franck, exacerbated by the feeling of losing his wife’s affection and attention to this car. He then decides to take matters into his own hands.
Less than 100,000 spectators at the cinema
Upon his exit, The perfect man it is a huge failure in cinema, and fails to even reach the symbolic threshold of 100,000 spectators. There are only three weeks left on display, which is very rare for a comedy with such a well-known cast. It must be said that the opinions of viewers and critics are catastrophic, as are the ratings of our colleagues atAlloCiné (only 1.5/5 on press and 1.9/5 on viewers).
However, the film was widely promoted and the actors were invited to numerous media outlets. But sometimes the sauce doesn’t hold up.
