Chris Pratt’s stunt double has died at the age of 47

Actor Chris Pratt recently expressed his sadness and respect over the death of Tony McFarr, his stunt double. Died on May 13 at the age of 47, the latter had worked alongside Pratt on several notable filmsparticularly in franchising Guardians of the Galaxy AND Jurassic world.

On his social networks (via Variety), Chris Pratt paid tribute to Tony McFarr by recalling the memories they shared. “It is with great sadness that I learned of the loss of my friend and replacement Tony McFarr,” he wrote. “We shared many moments on set, golf, glasses of whiskey, cigars and endless hours of work. His resilience is unforgettable. I particularly remember an incident in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ where he received a blow to the head, requiring several key points, but went back to work soon after.

Star-Lord’s interpreter also said goodbye professionalism and exemplary character from McFarr: “Tony was always a gentleman and a consummate professional. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with his loved ones, especially his daughter.”

The causes of his death remain unknown

Tony McFarr was a talented stuntman, with a career spanning over a decade. He started to overtake Pratt Jurassic world in 2015, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018. McFarr also performed stunts for Pratt in the film Passengers released in 2016, where he starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence.

Among his other notable contributions are films such as Captain America Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Hunger Games: RebellionParts 1 and 2, Planet of the Apes: Supremacy AND Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

According to Tony McFarr’s mother, he died at his home near Orlando, Florida, and no cause of death has been released.
