Lanternsone of the projects in the DC Studios series
In 2022, the DC Cinematic Universe has begun a significant change. James Gunn and Peter Safran were assigned to lead it and have since been responsible for developing new stories in this universe. One of the projects announced as being in development is a series about different Green Lanterns.
As explained by Peter Safran in the comments reported by Expiration in February 2023, the show was simply titled Lanterns will be ” Very important “ in the new DC universe. We already knew this too John Stewart and Hal Jordan will be present. And that will be the tone of the series inspired by that of True detective. But James Gunn just dropped more news on the show.
Three screenwriters behind the pilot
As he is used to with all the projects he is involved in, James Gunn has used his social networks to inform us about the progress of Lanterns. ON his Instagram accountrevealed that the series was he is currently assembling a team of writers for his writing. And what these screenwriters will rely on the show’s pilot written by three people. Know Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy and Tom King.
Damon Lindelof has already ventured into the world of superheroes. He made a strong impression with his he series Guardians. This notably won the Emmy for Best Limited Series in 2020. For his part, Chris Mundy notably worked on Ozarks AND True detective. Precisely, as mentioned above, this series is one of the inspirations of Lanterns. Finally, Tom King has been writing for DC Comics for many years.
John Stewart at the center of the show
Lanterns n/a no release date yet. We know it, though the series will focus on John Stewart, while she was originally supposed to be more interested in Guy Gardner and Alan Scott. Other Green Lanterns will appear there regardless, including perhaps these two protagonists. And it is certain that Guy Gardner will be one of the supporting characters in the film Superman by James Gunn. He will be played by Nathan Fillion.
