Euphoria: a big change planned for season 3

A season 3 has been ordered Euphoria

Among the most popular series of the moment, HBO has in its catalog Euphoria. The show focuses on a high school student named Rue. She tries to return to school by returning to high school after spending time in a detox center. She then approaches another student.

The first two seasons of Euphoria were released in 2019 and 2022, respectively (as well as two special episodes that aired in 2020 and 2021). They were a triumph. They especially earned much praise for their lead performers. Faced with such success, HBO ordered a third season. And one of the leaders of the chain just broke some news.

Rue and her friends are expected to drop out of high school

As HBO Max launched on Tuesday 11 June in France, two of the heads of the streaming service gave an interview to Variety. They talked about this topic, but also about others. Including the new season of Euphoria. Casey Bloys thus made some revelations about the series. He explained that Sam Levinson, its creator who is currently writing the new episodes, wanted it these take place outside of high school. So, after this period in the life of the main characters:

There’s been a lot of discussion about what happens next… One of the problems Sam faces is that he no longer wants the series to take place in high school. This is where it was happening and where it made sense before. So when you take it out of this framework, there’s a lot of discussion about where it should take place, how long after that time it should take place… But I think he has an idea that excites him, and he’s busy writing.

When asked about the casting of future episodes of the series, Casey Bloys also made an announcement that should reassure fans. He thus assured it the same main actors would return play your characters again. We should therefore see Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney or even Jacob Elordi play Rue, Jules, Cassie and Nate respectively.

Caution remains necessary

However, it is advisable to be cautious about continuing the activity Euphoria. Last March we passed on the information that Sam Levinson had already pitched a proposal several ideas that had not been approved from Zendaya and the decision makers at HBO. This is what Casey Bloys may be referring to when he talks about “professions” on the new plot.

And if the latter thinks Sam Levinson has a new idea “who excites him”, the writer doesn’t appear to have shared this idea with HBO decision makers at this time. It will therefore be necessary that he finishes his screenplay and that it gets accepted before the new episodes can happen.
