The first details on the fourth Jurassic World film may disappoint fans

Jurassic World 4 or Jurassic City? The new movie begins to be revealed

After a Jurassic World 3 which had been highly criticized by fans of the cult saga started by Steven Spielberg more than 30 years ago, Universal still wanted to launch the preparation of a brand new film which will be released in cinemas all over the world in summer 2025. According to the first information revealed by the studio, it would be a “completely new approach to the Jurassic saga”. But the first details regarding this new feature film are not exactly original. Even very far from there.

In a recent report by Varietywe learn that filming of this film directed by Gareth Edwards will begin soon in Thailand, and will continue in Malta (filming location of the previous film) and in the United Kingdom (for studio filming).

As for the plot, it will follow three adults and three teenagers trapped on the island. Although the film is also dubbed “Jurassic City”, the use of “the island” and not “an island” suggests that it could be the iconic Isla Nublar, known for being the main location of events in the first films of the series. It will be the seventh film based on Michael Crichton’s 1990 adventure novel.

Big casting announced

If you are a fan of Jurassic saga since its debut, you’ll agree that the concept of characters trapped on an island with dinosaurs might seem familiar, being the central plot of several previous films in the series. Screenwriter David Koepp (already working on the first two films of the saga, and this is good news) will have to find a new way to exploit this already banal gimmick to make it interesting.

As for casting, the studio hit hard on global stars, such as Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Mahershala Ali to make this new blockbuster.
