What a shame… Here are the first images which, if on the one hand testify to Mel Gibson’s good intentions for his return behind the camera and on the other make people laugh at a certain aesthetic choice regarding Mark Wahlberg, risk canceling out any curiosity about High risk flight.
This action thriller directed by Mel Gibson, with Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery and the very rare Topher Grace in the cast, is revealed in a trailer (video at the top of the article) which shows exactly what will happen in the film, in a chronological montage, and clearly highlights everything that should have surprised us in front of the cinema screen.

It’s even more of a shame, watching Mark Wahlberg reveal himself in this trailer and fight in the small cockpit of the plane where the action takes place, that the idea was originally interesting. In 2020, the scenario of High risk flight was actually part of the “Blacklist“, a list listing the best screenplays awaiting acquisition by studios. Its dramatic and cinematic potential was evident, with a promising deadly and breezy scene behind closed doors. In 2023, the announcement that Mel Gibson would direct the film with Mark Wahlberg in the lead role raised hopes that the director of Brave heart AND You will not kill surprises us for the better.
Alas, having seen the trailer gives rise to the bitter feeling of having already seen the whole film, and that after a few negligible details one already knows the ending… What remains is the apparently very committed performance of Mark Wahlberg, never as good as when he plays unpleasant bastards, and above all his appearance in High risk flightwith a spectacular hairstyle to say the least.
