Hellboy is back in the terrifying trailer for the reboot

A new reboot for Hellboy

We have often seen announced projects that dragged on before not seeing the light of day. The next film Lama has, for example, been in the works for a while at Marvel, but continues to fall behind schedule with a new departure from the director. Much to our surprise, it’s exactly the opposite Hellboy: The Crooked Man. While the reboot was announced in February 2023, just over a year later, by the wayThe first trailer has already been revealed.

We knew there would be some changes for this new film, after the two excellent parts by Guillermo del Toro, then that of Neil Marshall in 2019. In fact, this time, the story will take place in the 50s in rural Appalachia and will see the Red Demon intervene in a community infested by witches. However, we did not expect director Brian Taylor to make such a horrifying proposition with this new film Hellboyas you can see with this trailer beloworiginally shared by EW.

The first trailer is here

The video, lasting 1min10, presents a cold and disturbing atmosphere. Disturbing events begin to occur in a forest, including a levitating woman who is attacked by a snake. Hellboy also appears. The latter is embodied here by Jack Kesy (The strain, Deadpool 2). I’m not sure that this choice of interpreter will satisfy everyone. Even with the makeup and the character’s arsenal, it’s hard to believe. We will therefore remember more the horror side and the desire to make a horror film rather than a fantastic action work. Unfortunately, beyond this originality, the whole thing still seems a bit banal, and we can fear this. Hellboy: The Crooked Man in the end it tends more towards DTV.

Alongside Jack Kesy we can also see Adeline Rudolph (resident Evil) as a rookie BPRD agent (Office of Paranormal Research and Advocacy). The film’s release date was not specified.
