Netflix Reveals First Look at Stranger Things Season 5
To say that the fifth (and final) season of Stranger things is highly anticipated by fans would be an understatement. In fact, the Netflix series left us speechless after the Dantesque finale of the fourth seasonwhere Vecna’s Upside Down had swallowed up part of the town of Hawkins.
While we thought the threat was over, the big bad who appeared in season 4, aided by his shadow army, had come to the end of his Machiavellian plan. Season 5 will then pick up after these eventsand will see the final showdown between our favorite group of teenagers and Vecna.
Filming for these new episodes is currently underway on the other side of the Atlantic and, to keep us waiting, Netflix has revealed the first behind the scenes images. We find the entire cast, and a first taste of the masterly confrontation that is preparing in Hawkins:
A masterful final season?
Netflix has never skimped on resources with its stellar series Stranger things. For this last season, even less. The Duffer brothers have thus announced the color: this will be the most ambitious season of the series since the beginning and each episode has been imagined as a film.
All the main characters will be reunited in Hawkins to face the threat together. The fifth season promises to reunite the characters for a final showdown against Vecna and the forces of the Upside Down. While Season 4 revealed a lot about this famous “upside-down world,” Season 5 will bring even more revelations about this mysterious universe. The Duffer Brothers have emphasized that there is still much to discover about this sinister place and its secrets, of which Vecna is the key.
Will Byers will be a central character this season. His return to Hawkins and his continued connection with Vecna will play a crucial role. Will still senses Vecna’s presence and knows that the threat is far from eliminated.
No release date has been announced yet, but the final season of Stranger Things is expected to hit Netflix in late 2025.
