This killer dog thriller, a Cannes 2023 sensation, finally hits the big screen

South Korean film Silence Projectan action thriller full of horror and terror, is revealed in a spectacular trailer. Presented out of competition at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, it received a standing ovation. A year later, we will finally be able to discover it in French cinemas, starting from August 21, 2024.

The fog causes a massive accident on a bridge. As it threatens to collapse, unknown beasts find themselves released among the survivors.

In the newly revealed trailer (video at the top of the article), we discover several characters stuck on this bridge and attacked by particularly dangerous dogs. Will the different characters be able to team up and how will they survive? Between disaster film, action thriller and “animal” survival, Silence Project has the ambition to impress.

The main cast includes Lee Sun-kyun, Ju Ji-hoon, and Park Ju-hyun. It is directed by Kim Tae-gon, who co-wrote it with Park Joo-suk.

A release delayed following a tragedy

Although its domestic release was scheduled for 2023, the arrest and subsequent death of its lead actor Lee Sun-Kyun disrupted the film’s release schedule. Silence ProjectThe latter, a figure of Korean cinema, a close collaborator of directors Hong Sang-soo and Bong Joon-ho, was arrested in October 2023 and accused of illegal possession of drugs. All his projects were later realized stand bywhile this legal case has received much publicity in South Korea.

The film was then cancelled for the first time in October, and then postponed breast to die when Lee Sun-Kyun committed suicide December 27, 2023. In the end, Silence Project It was released in Korea on July 12th. And then it arrives in France on August 21st.
