In Beetlejuice: Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega play mother and daughter
In addition to being one of the next big films in his career, Jenna Ortega, The Ghosts Still Have Fun: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice also yielded a great friendship, during filming, for her life: Winona Ryder.
It is worth remembering how, in the film directed by Tim Burton, Ortega and Ryder interpreted, respectively, Astrid Deetz and Lydia Deetz. The cast also includes names such as Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice), Monica Bellucci (Delores), Willem Dafoe (Wolf Jackson), Danny DeVitobetween others.
During an interview with Fandangothe 21-year-old actress commented on how the interactions with her castmates from the film were. “Obviously, joining a sequel to something and it’s been so long since the original, I think I just wanted to put my head down and do the work, show up, be respectful and read my little book from the side,” she said.
“But I think Winona was so warm and welcoming, as was Catherine [O’Hara]just like everyone else, that you almost had no choice but to become part of the family, which I’m so grateful for, because I think filming and working together and Tim’s playful spirit, I felt like everything we did felt like we were all in on the same joke or on the same page, or had the same ideas,” she continued.
It felt like a free, collaborative space, but Winona and I—I swear we started talking one day on set and never stopped. You could find us in the same position four hours later, never moving. She’s the best.
