Pachinko : one of the best series of 2022
Originally released in 2017, then in 2021 in France, the novel Pachinko Min-Jin-Lee (American author of Korean origin) was a great success all over the world. Translated into 30 languages, the book was ranked as a bestseller for almost a year by the New York Times. It was also highly recommended by Barack Obama who was it for”a powerful story about resilience and compassion“(via Huffington Post). Of course, Min Jin Lee’s work has attracted attention and Apple TV+ has proposed a series adaptation.
Created by Soo Hugh, Pachinko follows the journey ofa four-generation Korean familyliving first under Japanese occupation in South Korea, then emigrating to Japan. A complex story for a family that goes through different difficulties depending on the period and tries above all to survive. Premiered March 25, 2022 on Apple TV+, Pachinko was one of the streaming platform’s great successes. Season 2 is finally here
Surely one of the best series of 2022, Pachinko still took some time before revealing its sequel. In fact, almost a year and a half has passed since the first season that the new episodes will be revealed. It comes from this 24th of August that Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to discover season 2.
