Nominees for the greatest recognition of American TV were revealed this Tuesday (12); however, fan favorites were left out of the awards; see the list

The White Lotus, Succession, Ted Lassoand Only Murders in the Buildingwere the main highlights of the nominations for the 74th edition of the Emmy Awards, revealed this Tuesday (12). The award, scheduled for September 12 this year, annually recognizes the highlights of American TV. And annually many people are also forgotten – or ‘snubbed’ – by the jury.

2022 was no different, with series and stars coming out ahead while others are left in the fold of Television Academythe institution responsible for Emmy. And among this year’s snubbed there are attractions that have already been very well recognized by the academy – such as The Morning Showand This IsUs.

Below we’ve gathered some ‘snubbed’ that should break the hearts of fans at the 2022 Emmys:

atlanta

One of the biggest absences in Emmy 2022 it certainly is atlanta, which returned from a four-year hiatus for a third season. Expectations were high, of course, but they weren’t enough to justify the inconsistency of the plot, which changed locations on return. At least Donald Glover got a mention in the category of Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

The Morning Show

Not even the instructions Billy Crudup and Reese Witherspoon for their performances ended up saving The Morning Showto be ignored by the jury of the Emmy. And there are those who agree: the series, which stunned audiences and critics in its first season, ended up not sustaining the same pace in its second year, with a script considered too monotonous and full of narrative flaws. A cold water bath for those who expected at least a wink to Jennifer Aniston or Steve Carell.

This Is Us

Perhaps the absence that most resonates among Brazilian fans will be that of This Is Us, the family drama that ended its trajectory bringing many to tears last May. The intensity of Miguel and Rebecca’s parting, or Kevin’s resolution of the drama, weren’t enough to justify points like Randall’s lack of arc or the script’s sense of repetition. In its last run, the only nomination left for the drama in 2022 ended up being Best Score.

Mandy Moore, This Is Us

And since we’re talking about This Is Usit is impossible not to mention the performance of Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson. Moore has already won previous recognitions – namely in 2019, in the Emmyin addition to Golden Globe It’s from Screen Guild Awards, which he ended up taking on two occasions. However, the character’s struggle with Alzheimer’s, which reaches a dramatic peak in final seasonwas not enough to convince the jurors of the Emmy.

Amy Ryan, Only Murders in the Building

Leading Nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (for the duo Steve Martin and Martin Shot), Only Murders in the Buildingdidn’t make it Amy Ryan, one of its biggest stars – and responsible for one of the biggest turns of the series in its first season. It’s safe to say that it was partly her performance that took Only Murders in the Building nominated for Best Comedy Series.

Alan Ruck, Succession

Alan Ruck: 'Snubbed' at Emmy 2022 (Reproduction)

In a year when almost the entire cast of Successionled indications, an absence to be felt was that of Alan Ruckwhich interprets Connor Roy in the plot of HBO. The series explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and their four adult children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Connor (ruck) – of which only Ruck was not honored by the jury. Fans of the plot will certainly disagree.
