A new crime film for Daniel Auteuil and Olivier Marchal?
I am currently playing the legal thriller The threaddirected by him and in which he plays the lead role, Daniel Auteuil shared with us information that should delight his fans and those of director Olivier Marchal. In fact, while he recalled his memory of 36 Quai des Orfevressuccessful thriller released in 2004 and which relaunched the detective genre in French cinema, has hinted at a potential film that would reunite them for the third time, after “36” and MR 73published in 2008.
He said that Olivier Marchal, who never stops writing and touring, had recently contacted him. So, if Daniel Auteuil is not in the Netflix sequel that the director himself is giving to his 2004 thriller, Fortress 36the hope of seeing the latter direct him in a new film is very real:
I really like “36, quai des Orfèvres”. Every 10 years there is a thriller that revives the genre. It takes it off television and relaunches it in the cinema. It’s a fantastic film. I love it. I love Olivier Marchal’s sensitivity. He recently called me and asked if I wanted to make a film with him. I told him: “But you’re crazy, obviously!” I’ll come running, write! »
Since it has successfully delivered 36 Quai des Orfevres AND MR 73 Fascinating portraits of police officers at the end of their tether, desperate and trapped in tragic mechanisms, this is quite an enticing news. And as the saying goes, “never two without three“… It now remains to be seen when, among the many projects that Olivier Marchal is developing, he will be able to commit to writing and producing this meeting with Daniel Auteuil.
