Netflix released, last Thursday (19), the first trailer for the second season of Round 6 is back on Netflix, returning with new episodes on December 26, three years after the first season’s release. Check it out:
What is the story of Round 6?
In Round 6456 people in emergency situations who urgently need money receive a mysterious invitation to enter a mysterious game. Those who respond to the invitation are locked in a secret location, where they play childish games to win 45.6 billion won (the series’ currency). However, the consequence of losing is no child’s play and results in the death of the participants.
The first season of the Korean series premiered on September 17, 2021 and quickly became a worldwide hit, earning a second season on Netflix and a spin-off reality show. Round 6: The Challengewhich premiered last November.
3rd and final season already confirmed!
In addition to the premiere date for season 2, Netflix also confirmed that the series will have a third and final season, scheduled to premiere in 2025. The news was accompanied by a text from the director, screenwriter and executive producer of Round 6, Hwang Dong-hyuk:
“It’s been almost three years since Season 1 was a huge success around the world. Since then, many incredible things have happened. And today, I’m pleased to write this letter to announce the premiere date of Season 2 and share some news about our third and final season.”he wrote.
“The day we started filming season two, I found myself thinking, ‘Wow! I can’t believe I’m back in the universe of Round 6‘. For me, it was a bit of a surreal feeling, and I’m curious to know how you guys feel about the show returning after three years.”he continued.
“It’s amazing to see that the seed we planted when creating Round 6 has grown and is bearing fruit by the end of this story. We will do our best to ensure that you embark on another incredible journey. I hope you are prepared for what comes next. Thank you very much and see you soon!”he concluded.
