A year after he made a splash as Chris Washington in the film written and directed by Jordan Peele. saltDaniel Kaluuya appeared in black Panther, the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as W’Kabi, a trusted confidant of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. We will be returning to Wakanda later this year Black Panther: Wakanda foreverand although it was initially announced that Kaluuya would reprise his role, the actor confirmed that he will not appear in the sequel.

If it’s a shame that Daniel Kaluuya didn’t find the time in his schedule to shoot Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, from a narrative standpoint, W’Kabi’s absence from the film makes sense. Although T’Challa and W’Kabi were best friends in the beginning black Panther, their divergent views on how to deal with Ulysses Klaue, who killed W’Kabi’s parents during his infiltration of Wankanda in the early 1990s, created a wedge between them. When Erik “Killmonger” Stevens later claimed the throne of Wakanda, W’Kabi and his border tribe army supported efforts to distribute Wakandan weapons around the world. W’Kabi fought against T’Challa, his wife Okoye and the others who came to stop Killmonger, eventually giving up. It is therefore entirely possible that when wakanda forever begins, W’Kabi is in prison for his actions or he may have been banned from Wakanda.
Although we will not see W’Kabi in Black Panther: Wakanda forever, I hope they will mention it so you know what happened to him. The best way for this to happen is through Okoye, as Danai Gurira is definitely reprising the character, who also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War Yes ending of the Avengers. More familiar faces return wakanda forever include Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Wilson Duke, Angela Bassett, Florence Kasumba, Isaach de Bankolé, Dorothy Steel, and Danny Sapani. wakanda forever will also feature Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, before her Disney + series.
Sadly, Chadwick Boseman passed away in August 2020 and since T’Challa will never again appear in the MCU via digital redesign or recreation, he will take over as the new Black Panther is yet to be announced. That said, probably the most likely candidate is Letitia Wright’s Shuri, T’Challa’s sister who briefly became the Black Panther in the comics. It has also been said / reported / allegedly disclosed Narcos: Mexico Star Tenoch Huerta will play Namor the submarine, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed. Behind the scenes, Ryan Coogler returned to directing and co-writing wakanda forever with Joe Robert Cole.
Black Panther: Wakanda forever is still scheduled for November 11, but you can catch up on past adventures with T’Challa and her minions, including the anime What if …? series, with a Disney + subscription. No it will be released in theaters exclusively on July 22nd.
