Palm Springs has its French remake
In February 2021, we discovered the excellent sci-fi romantic comedy on Prime Video Palm Springs. The story of the meeting between a man and a woman, played by Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti, stuck in a time loop during a wedding party in Palm Springs. Critically acclaimed during its premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, Max Barbakow’s production received numerous nominations and awards and is considered one of the best recent comedies.
Its success therefore gave Prime Video the idea of a French remake. The task was entrusted to director and Camille Chamoux’s partner Patrick Cassir, who established himself in the romantic comedy genre with First vacation. Its title is An endless weddingwith Tarek Boudali and Camille Rowe.
During her sister’s wedding in a remote hotel in Morocco, Louna meets Paul. Consumed by boredom, she allows herself to be seduced by this curious guest. But as they prepare to end the evening in the middle of the desert, Paul is attacked by a mysterious attacker and flees into a cave, followed closely by Louna. When she wakes up, she discovers that she is stuck in a time loop with Paul, condemned to relive that day again.
