Yves Montand and Simone Signoret return to the cinema
The announcement was made during the FNCF 2024 film publishers conference, which took place in Deauville. Even if the biographical genre is currently intensely exploited, only in France are there recent ones Abbé Pierre: A life of struggle and soon Mr Aznavour -, is another biopic in the making. Or even a double biopic, given that it will tell the story of the legendary couple formed by Simone Signoret AND Yves Montand.
Titled I who loved youas in the iconic song by Yves Montand Dead leavesdirected by Diane Kurys, it is scheduled for summer 2025. For the moment no details on the script have been revealed.

Actors of the legendary cinema, each alone and together in four films (The Witches of Salem, The Confession, The widow Couderc, The war is over), Simone Signoret and Yves Montand also formed a famous couple in the city. They met in August 1949 and married in 1951. A union that would never be questioned and that would last until the death of Simone Signoret, which occurred in September 1985. And this, despite Yves Montand’s infidelities, more sensational was his relationship of a few weeks with Marilyn Monroe, revealed by the American press. Simone Signoret, although humiliated on the international scene, keeps her head held high and declares in particular with surprising elegance:

To play Simone Signoret, she is charismatic and always extraordinary Marina Fois that was chosen. And at his side it is Roschdy Zem who will play the famous actor and singer. A sensible choice if we think about the presence and darkness that the two men apparently share.
