First session of Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso at the Tiny Desk

After the release of “Baño María”, their first album together, and in the middle of touring to present it on their most important tour to date, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso stopped in Washington to record a show at the NPR station’s legendary Tiny Desk.

The recording took place in the middle of the Latin American leg of the tour, which kicked off with an unprecedented show at the Buenos Aires Arena and toured Córdoba, Santa Fe, Salta, Tucumán, Neuquén and Mar del Plata, as well as Chile (Santiago de Chile), Peru (Lima), Ecuador (Quito) and Colombia (Bogotá and Medellín).

As they prepare for the next series of presentations of the material from “Baño María” in Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis and Montevideo (Uruguay), the session is an opportunity to enjoy very different versions of the album’s songs .

With a setlist of five songs and accompanied by the spectacular group composed of Javier Burin on keyboards, Anita B Queen on vocals, guitar and samples, Eduardo Giardina on drums and Felipe Brandy on bass, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso took the opportunity to show several of the undersides of “Baño María”, an album that perfectly captures the versatility with which they demolish generic limits… and of all kinds.

For “Hispanic Heritage Month” the station organized “Latin Music Month”, a series of sessions with artists such as Juanes, Eladio Carrión, Iván Cornejo, Danny Ocean and The Marías, among others, and proposed love as a theme.

Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso took it seriously: Ca7riel wore a vest made with the typical plush hearts that say “I love you”, while Paco wore a t-shirt with actor Roly Serrano playing Diego Maradona.
