A sequel already announced for this new and great animated success

The wild robot starts off strong in theaters

The new creation from the DreamWorks Animation studio, The wild robotcan be seen in French cinemas from 9 October. The film focuses on a nicknamed robot “Roz”who must survive after being stranded on an island. Gradually, will meet different animals and build relationships with them, even going so far as to adopt a duck.

The wild robot accomplished a great start in the rooms. As explained several days ago, the film had already achieved good results even before being released in many territories, including France. It had accumulated more than $53.1 million in a few days, succeeding the best start for an animated film released in September. After this reception, the sequel to the feature film is already being prepared.

A sequel is in the works

For its second weekend in theaters, The wild robot exceeded the threshold of 100 million dollars enter the box office. A few days later, its director, Chris Sanders, was interviewed by Expiration about a possible sequel. And he left no doubt on the matter:

Yes, 100%. There are absolutely plans for a second film.

Chris Sanders’ statement should therefore delight fans of the first film. They will be able to discover the rest of Roz’s adventures. DreamWorks Animation should soon officially confirm the start of work on the second film. And we should also know quickly whether Chris Sanders will write again The Wild Robot 2 as well as making it happen.

Towards a trilogy?

It’s still too early to know when we might hope to find out The Wild Robot 2 in the rooms. But we already know thisa third work will probably see the light. Because the first film is adapted from Peter Brown’s novel of the same name. However, this is the first of a trilogy.

If The Wild Robot 2 was a success even when it was released in theaters, an adaptation of the third book should therefore also occur. In the meantime you can still (re)discover Chris Sanders’ film at the cinema.
