A serial remake for Cruel intentions
Written by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, the epistolary novel Dangerous relationships it has had numerous film adaptations. Cruel intentionswhich transposes the novel’s story to Manhattan, is one of the most famous. Its plot concerns two students who multiply their conquests: Kathryn Vermeuil and Sebastian Valmont. One day, the former challenges the latter to seduce a newcomerthe pious Anne Hargrove.
Cruel intentions is today considered a cult film. It spawned two sequels, released in 2001 and 2004 respectively. A musical comedy adapted from the film was even created. And soon, we will be able to find out a new adaptation. This time it will take the form ofa series. However, this has just been revealed its first trailer.
First sulphurous images for the show
Prime Video has released the first trailer for the series online Cruel intentions. This time the two protagonists are Caroline Merteuil and her half-brother, Lucien Valmont. And I’m in college. As for the student Lucien has to seduce, her name is Annie Hargrove. She is simply the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. If Lucien can take up the challenge launched by his half-sister, will be offered to him…
According to the trailer images, the series will not only focus on the trio at the center of the plot. It should make us follow the adventures of the different members of the university, be they other students or professors.
Just under a month until release
This new version of Cruel intentions was created by Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman. The roles of Caroline, Lucien and Annie were entrusted to Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess and Savannah Lee Smith respectively.
Cruel intentions will have eight episodes. These will arrive next November 21st First Video.
