The main news announced at D23 Brasil, Disney convention

An unprecedented event took place last weekend, in São Paulo, and brought news about productions from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and much more

Unprecedented in the country, the D23 Brazil took place last weekend, in São Paulo, and, in addition to providing a unique and incredible experience for fans, it brought lots of news about upcoming releases from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and much more. Below, check out everything that was revealed in the first Brazilian edition of the event:

  • THE live-action of Lilo & Stitchbased on the successful 2002 animation, received a release date in Brazilian cinemas. With the young actress Mary Kealoha as Lilo and Chris Sanders returning as Stitchthe film is scheduled for May 22, 2025.

  • Almost ten years after the release of the fifth and, until then, last film in the saga, The Ice Age is back for a sixth adventure, which will feature the returns of the franchise’s main characters.

  • It was revealed that Dream Productionseries derived from Inside Out (2015) and Inside Out 2 (2024), will have four episodes, which will be available on Disney+ from December 11th. Check out a teaser:
  • Toy Story 5the new film in the Disney-Pixar franchise, which premieres on June 18, 2026, will address the conflict of Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the class with technologies, which are becoming increasingly present in children’s lives.
  • Scheduled to premiere on December 19th, Mufasa: The Lion Kingprelude to the live-action The Lion Kingreleased in 2019, got a final trailer, which shows the past of Mufasalived by Aaron Pierre (The Underground Railroad: The Paths to Freedom) in the new film. Watch:
  • “In addition”from the soundtrack of Moana 2which hits theaters on November 28th, was released during the D23 Brazil. In Portuguese, the song is performed by Any Gabriellyex-Now United, responsible for voicing the character in the Brazilian version. Listen:
  • Kevin Feigepresident of Marvel Studios, confirmed that there are plans for the return of Scarlet Witchcharacter from Elizabeth Olsenin the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The witch was presumed dead after her last appearance in the franchise, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness2022.

  • Operation Revengenew film by Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), got a release date: April 10, 2025. The novelty tells the story of a CIA cryptographer, whose life takes a dramatic turn when his wife dies in a terrorist attack in London and he begins to act on his own to find those responsible for the crime.
  • Straight from New Zealand, the director James Cameron spoke to the audience at D23 Brasil and presented conceptual images of Avatar: Fire and Ashthe third chapter of the billion-dollar franchise, which is scheduled to debut in December 2025.

  • Andorseries derived from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), got a premiere date: April 22, 2025. In total, the season will feature twelve episodes, which will follow Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, Narcos: Mexico) for a period of four years.

  • The head of TV, streaming and animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaumconfirmed that the third season of What If…?, first animation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it will be the last and will feature the appearances of heroes such as Stormmember of X-Menand White Visionfrom WandaVision (2021).
  • It was also revealed that the animation Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Mannew series about Spider-Manwill be called Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in Brazil.
  • Charlie Coxthe Daredeviland Vincent D’Onofriowhich interprets the King of Crimewere at D23 Brasil and revealed that Daredevil: Born Againsequel to the series shown on Netflix between 2015 and 2018, will be called Daredevil: Reborn in Brazil.

  • Thunderbolts*which brings together Marvel anti-heroes like Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh, All the Time We Have), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan, The Apprentice) and Red Guardian (David Harbor, Stranger Things), got a new trailer. Watch:
  • Scheduled for February 2025, Captain America: Brave New WorldMarvel’s next feature film, also got a new preview, which shows the hero, now played by Anthony Mackiefacing the Red Hulkplayed by Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones and the Relic of Destiny). Check it out:

  • In the dashboard Percy Jackson and the Olympiansit was announced that the actress Andra Dayof United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021) and Liberation (2024), will be the goddess Athenamother of Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries, Empire: Fame and Power), in the second season of the series.

  • Xuxa and the actress Ywyzar Guajajara presented an unprecedented preview of Tarannew Brazilian series on Disney+, which tells the story of a girl and her mother trying to save Planet Earth from extinction. Check it out:
  • Maria and Cangaçoseries starring Isis Valverde (Mother’s Love) and Julio Andrade (Under pressure), won its first preview. The new feature, scheduled for 2025, tells the story of Maria Bonitawife of Lampthe most important woman in cangaço, a social, political and cultural phenomenon that occurred in Brazil at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century.
  • After the success of Lostreleased in 2022, Giovanna Grigio (Park Maniac) returns to the long sequence, Foundbased on the book of the same name by Carina Rissi.
  • Another announced sequel was Our Home 3which promises to repeat the box office success of Our Home 2seen by more than 4 million people when it hit theaters this year.
  • Finally, the return of the Brazilian series was confirmed Unclean for a 6th season. In the new year, while recovering from the attack suffered, Geise (Lorena Comparato) only thinks about revenge.

Rolling Stone Brazil film special
