After months on display, the production reaches its final month of presentations
After months in theaters, the musicalHairspray reaches its last month of presentations at Renault Theaterin São Paulo. Since its premiere in September, the production has attracted around 100,000 spectators in 100 sessions.
The show, set in the 1960s, tells the story of Tracy Turnblada young woman full of dreams and energy who defies beauty standards and prejudices to become the star of the program “Corny Collins Show”. Furthermore, Hairspray addresses topics such as racial segregation, fatphobia and inclusion in a fun and exciting way, with iconic songs such as Good Morning Baltimore, I Know Where I’ve Been and You Can’t Stop the Beat.
