Dragons conquer San Diego.

At the city’s annual Comic-Con, two activations transport fans into the fantasy world of Paramount. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and hbo Dragon House.

The first installation sees Dungeons and Dragons He transformed the Omnia nightclub in San Diego’s Gaslamp district and proved quite popular, with fans lining up around the block for a chance to get in. The Tavern Experience is unique in that it presented the first in-depth look at the film, which was broadcast live on Wednesday before the convention’s Hall H panel on Thursday.

Usually these first looks are reserved for digital distribution, but Paramount had great success with the in-person event. From the outside, the experience is a fully realized version of one of the series’ main locations, Flea Bottom, with a cast of peasants and merchants.

Guests will be guided through a ritualistic dragon hatching ceremony, including a five-pound “real” dragon egg, before receiving their own unique digital dragon in the recently launched “DracARys” app.

The app, developed by Niantic, the studio known for Pokémon Go, is available exclusively to Comic-Con attendees ahead of its global launch on July 25th.
