Kate Moss has opened up about why she chose to take ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

“I believe in truth and I believe in equity and justice,” Moss replied. “I know that John Galliano is not a bad person: he had a problem with alcohol and people turned around. People are not themselves when they drink and say things they would never say if they were sober.”
Of Depp, he continued: “I know the truth about John. I know I never pushed him down the stairs. I had to tell the truth.”
The model, who dated Depp between 1994 and 1998, became embroiled in a legal battle after Heard testified about a fight with Depp in which Heard beat her up in defense of her sister.
“I just saw my little sister with her back to me on the stairs and John turns to her,” Heard revealed. “I don’t doubt and I don’t hope. I immediately think of Kate Moss and the stairs and turn to her.”
Moss’ mention of Moss allowed Depp’s lawyers to bring in Moss as a rebuttal witness.
Depp’s attorney, Benjamin Chew, enthusiastically raised his fist when Heard mentioned Moss in the deposition, paving the way for Moss’ deposition. Moss weighed in on Heard’s third-party account of the incident.
“When I left the room, I ran down the stairs and my back hurt,” Moss revealed. “And I screamed because I didn’t know what was wrong with me and it hurt. He rushed to help me and took me to my room and I had to seek medical attention.
Depp finally won a major legal victory by a jury in his case against Heard.
