Four friends in the midst of a midlife crisis Supermales
Fans of French comedies will be able to find out this Friday 24 January the series Supermales. This is it adapted from Machos Alphaanother series this time Spanish and launched in 2022. The story of the French version invites us to follow Cédric, Tom, Jérémie and Tonio, four friends in the midst of a midlife crisis.
Creative director in an agency, Cédric prefers to resign when one day he is informed that he will have to share his position with a woman. He therefore finds himself in a delicate financial situation. Author, Tom is depressed after being left by his son’s mother, Andréa. For his part, Jérémie and his wife Cécile have difficulty rekindling the flame in their relationship. Finally, Tonio is madly in love by Delphine… but he cheats on her regularly.
The new series by Noémie Saglio
Supermales was created by Noémie Saglio. The latter was already behind Asshole AND Plan of the heart. He also directed episodes of the show with Olivier Rosenbergbest known for playing Olivier in Family business. As for the casting of his new series, Guillaume Labbé, Manu Payet, Antoine Gouy and Vincent Heneine were chosen to play Cédric, Tom, Jérémie and Tonio respectively.
Although it covers many topics, Supermales offers us above all a story of friendship AND a humorous reflection on quarantine. His actors also seem very comfortable there. With a cocktail like that, we can bet on the success of the series. We would be surprised if in the next few days it didn’t enter the top 10 of the most watched series of the moment on Netflix in France.
Future success and several seasons to come?
Supermales it is cut six episodesthat last each about 30 minutes. It is not yet known whether the series will have a sequel. But on the Spanish side Machos Alpha recently revealed its third season. And a fourth is in preparation.
We can therefore think so Supermales it could even last multiple seasons. This will undoubtedly depend on the success of the first few episodes. But as mentioned above, we bet they will attract a lot of Netflix subscribers. The platform could then quickly order the sequel.
